〜かどうか is used to embed a yes/no question within a larger sentence, meaning 'whether or not.' It replaces the question-ending か with かどうか when the question is embedded as a clause.
Formation: [Plain form verb/adjective/noun] + かどうか + main clause. For example: 明日雨が降るかどうか分からない (I don't know whether or not it will rain tomorrow). The embedded clause uses plain form, even in polite speech.
This is different from embedded question words (何を食べるか), which use just か. かどうか is specifically for yes/no type questions — when you're wondering about the truth of a statement, not asking for specific information.

The full form is かどうか. Do not shorten it. Also, かどうか requires a main clause after it.
