Nara Conditional (~nara)

~なら is a conditional that responds to something the listener has said or a situation that has been established. It means 'if it's the case that...' or 'if you're talking about...' and is used to provide advice, recommendations, or information relevant to that topic.

Unlike ~たら and ~ば, ~なら does not require the condition to happen first chronologically. The advice or result can actually happen before the condition. For example: 日本に行くなら、パスポートを取ってください (If you're going to Japan, get a passport) — getting the passport happens before going to Japan.

~なら follows nouns, na-adjectives (without だ), i-adjectives, and verbs in dictionary or plain form. It often appears in conversations where someone mentions a plan or situation, and the speaker responds with relevant advice.
